BUILD-INS #3
form: the design centered mostly on the pre-existing
arch in the entry way and the stair, we used the same
slope on the arch of the book case.
function: the piece is 9' x 6'. The bottom shelves have
more space between them to account for taller books.
beauty: the color was chosen to highlight the contrast
between the sharp angles of the red wall and to keep
the piece visually as part of the arch and the rest of
the wall. The moulding: white.
form: these are all in the same office. top: is the
pantry area, built around the fridge and outlet. right:
inside a tiny bathroom (accounting for the odd angle
of the photo) a lofted storage space and hot water
heater (that we fixed saving client $700). bottom:
same pantry area, built into a nook that was part of
the former bathroom we converted.
function: top: sliding doors, space above fridge set to
height of coffee maker when you are pouring water
into the top of it. right: sliding doors and installed
light connected to switch @ entry bottom: cabinet
doors
beauty: all stained and Poly satin. material is basic
ply wood used to fit in clients aesthetic and budget.
right: material cedar shingles.
